Federal & NSW Battery Incentives

Maximize Savings and Sustainability with Energy Incentives

The Federal Battery Rebate, NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS), and Virtual Power Plant (VPP) initiatives are designed to help homeowners and small businesses cut energy costs while supporting a cleaner, more sustainable future.

Federal Solar Battery Rebate (Starts July 1, 2025)

Get up to 30% off your home or small business battery system when paired with rooftop solar, saving an average of $3,000–$4,000. One rebate is offered per electricity meter; multiple properties may qualify separately.

  • Lower Installation Costs – Government incentives significantly reduce the initial cost of battery systems.
  • Energy Savings – Store energy when prices are low and use it during peak times to lower electricity bills.
  • Eco-Friendly Impact – Decrease reliance on fossil fuels and contribute to a greener future.

How It Works:

  1. Check Your Eligibility – Our team will confirm eligibility during a free consultation.
  2. Install a Qualifying Battery – Receive subsidies to offset installation costs.
  3. Start Saving – Optimize energy usage with smart battery management.

NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme (PDRS)

Save on upfront costs with government subsidies and reduce your electricity bills by storing cheaper, off-peak power for use during peak hours.

  1. Check Your Eligibility – Our team will confirm if you qualify during a free consultation.
  2. Install a Qualifying Battery – Receive subsidies to offset installation costs.
  3. Start Saving – Optimize energy usage with smart battery management.

Virtual Power Plant (VPP)

Turn your unused battery power into extra income by sharing energy with the grid when demand is high.

  • Earn Extra Income – Get paid for surplus energy shared with the grid.
  • Boost Efficiency – Smart energy management maximizes your savings.
  • Support the Grid – Help stabilize the electricity network by contributing stored power during peak demand.

How It Works:

  1. Connect to a VPP Platform – Link your battery to the network
  2. Share Surplus Energy – Contribute stored power when demand spikes.
  3. Get Paid – Receive compensation for the energy you provide.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install early and still get the federal rebate?

Yes. Systems installed ahead of time may still be eligible, as long as they are not switched on and are certified (with a Certificate of Electrical Compliance) on or after 1 July 2025.

Can I combine the federal rebate with NSW PDRS?

Yes. The federal rebate can be combined with the NSW Peak Demand Reduction Scheme to maximise your savings.

Is a VPP required for the federal rebate?

No. Your battery just needs to be VPP-capable. Joining a Virtual Power Plant is optional.

Am I eligible for the PDRS?

Most homeowners and small businesses with compatible systems qualify. We’ll confirm eligibility during your consultation.

How much can I save with the PDRS?

Savings vary based on battery size and configuration, but most participants see a major reduction in installation costs.

Is participating in a VPP safe?

Yes! Advanced software ensures your battery operates safely and efficiently.

Can I opt out of a VPP if needed?

Absolutely! Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time.

Other States May Offer Similar Incentives

While the PDRS and VPP programs apply to NSW, other states may offer similar incentives.
